The funding model is simple: books sell, and 30% of book-sale proceeds is intended to support commissary grants for eligible incarcerated people.

Where the funding comes from
Books4Books sells the participating titles connected to this initiative. Buying a book is an ordinary retail purchase — it gives no advantage to any applicant and is never required to apply.
The precise accounting basis for the 30% allocation is being documented and will be published alongside reporting.
