Stories
Told by the person, on their terms
This page is reserved for stories shared willingly by people the program has supported. No stories are published yet.
Editorial approach
A person is not a case file
Stories will be presented as writing, not as evidence of hardship. Each will carry the writer's own words, a short editorial note only where context is needed, and nothing that turns someone's life into a fundraising device.
We publish no examples, composites or illustrative profiles. When a story appears here, it belongs to a real person who gave written permission for it.
Privacy controls
How we protect people
- Written consent first
- Nothing is published unless the person ticked the consent box or gave separate written permission.
- You choose how you appear
- First name, initials or anonymous. Facility and location can be withheld on request.
- Privacy review
- Before publication we remove case details, medical information, third-party names and anything that could identify a family member.
- Withdraw at any time
- Consent can be revoked in writing, and the story is removed from the site.
- Never a condition
- Sharing a story is optional and has no effect whatsoever on whether an application is approved.
No invented stories
We do not publish testimonials we did not receive, and we do not create composite characters. An empty page is better than a false one.
